The upcoming charging hub in Kolkata will primarily serve 300 electric cabs of ‘Snap-E’, the app-based electric cab company. The charging facility is expected to become operational by August 2025, ahead of Durga Puja. The hub will feature both fast & slow EV chargers. Fast EV chargers will constitute about 20% of all chargers. Solar panels and battery energy storage systems will also be installed to make the facility sustainable.

2. Yuma’s battery swapping units to feature at Kazam Park & Charge hubs.

Kazam has come together with Yuma Energy for a strategic partnership that will see the integration of Yuma’s battery swapping technology into Kazam’s Park & Charge (P&C) hubs across India. Yuma Energy is a joint venture between Yulu Bikes & Magna International. The rollout of this partnership has already taken place at Mahadevapura Park & Charge hub in Bengaluru, with more expected to follow soon. This move allows drivers using Yuma’s partner EV brands to now swap out discharged batteries for fully charged ones at Kazam hubs, thereby minimizing downtime.

These locations primarily cater to electric two & three-wheelers. By integrating Yuma's battery swapping modules within Kazam's Park and Charge hubs, the transition to green has become easier for fleet operators & e-commerce companies."
