1. Skoda finally unveils the Enyaq EV facelift.

Skoda has finally unveiled the facelift version of its Enyaq electric SUV. The new model features a variety of changes including a fresh look with optimized aerodynamics, a premium cabin that uses sustainable materials and an upgraded powertrain that offers a longer range. The new Enyaq will come in SUV & SUV-Coupe body types, and both will have two battery options: a 59 kWh pack, which offers a claimed range of 431 km and a 77 kWh pack, which offers a range of 588 km.

Skoda is also likely to launch the Elroq electric SUV in India in 2025. The Elroq EV will be positioned below the Enyaq.

2. BluSmart starts its operations in Mumbai.

EV cab service company BluSmart has started operations in Mumbai. Starting with Rentals & Airport rides, the service will initially cover areas from Goregaon to Bandra, including Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), with plans for gradual expansion across the city. As of now, BluSmart has operations in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru & UAE.

BluSmart’s Mumbai fleet will Initially have MG ZS EVs. The company has joined hands with many public EV charging networks to ensure its electric cabs are well-supported across the city. BluSmart’s driver app has started showing its new EV charging partners’ stations.

3. VinFast confirms its participation in the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

Vietnamese EV company VinFast has announced its participation at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The brand has released a teaser, which features 2 electric SUVs (VF 7 & VF 9) that will be exhibited at the auto expo.

The VinFast VF7 is a 5-seater electric SUV. In international markets, it is offered in 2 battery variants: 59.6kWh & 75.3kWh.

The VinFast VF9 is a three-row electric SUV. In international markets, it is offered in 2 battery variants: 106kWh & 123kWh.

4. Nashik to get 5 EV charging stations by the end of January.

Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced the launch of 5 EV charging stations in the city by the end of this month. NMC had proposed a total of 29 EV charging stations in different parts of the city. Out of these, 5 are ready to be made operational. Completion of civil works are on track and power connection from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has been approved. At present, the process of finalizing the charging tariff is in works. Each EV charging station will be able to charge 2 electric four-wheelers & 3 electric two-wheelers at a time.

The EV charging station project is being funded under central government's National Clean Air Programme (NCAP). The city’s municipal corporation has received Rs 86 crore for the stations.

5. Odysse Electric delivers 1500 electric scooters to Zypp Electric.

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Odysse Electric has delivered 1500 electric scooters to Zypp Electric. This delivery is part of a larger deal, announced in November 2024, where Odysse Electric will deliver 40,000 EVs to Zypp over the next 3 years.

Zypp Electric is an EV-as-a-Service platform dedicated to transforming last-mile logistics with electric mobility solutions. The platform has around 20,000 EVs in its fleet currently, and plans to increase this to more than 2,00,000. Apart from Odysse, Zypp also has a strategic partnership with e-Sprinto, another electric two-wheeler manufacturer. The latter will supply 30,000 electric scooters to Zypp in the next 3 years.
